Giving Back Is Part of Who We Are
At Portal Rum, we believe that true adventure begins with gratitude—and that means giving back to the heroes who serve our communities and protect our freedoms.
Whether it’s through donations, volunteering, or active participation, we proudly support a growing list of charities dedicated to veterans, first responders, and frontline medical workers. These brave individuals face unimaginable challenges in the line of duty—and they deserve our full attention, respect, and support when they come home.
Every day, first responders put their safety on the line to protect us. Veterans carry the weight of service long after their missions end. These are our neighbors, our friends, our family—and they deserve more than just thanks. They deserve action.
We invite you to explore the incredible organizations we support. Follow their work, share their stories, and if you’re able—donate your time, resources, or voice. Even the smallest gesture can make a massive impact.
Help us build a movement.

Mission: Healing Through Adventure
At IGY6; Foundation, they believe that healing doesn’t always happen in a clinic—it can happen on mountaintops, riverbanks, around campfires, it can happen in many places. Their Adventure Therapy Program is designed to uplift and empower veterans, first responders, and frontline medical professionals through transformative outdoor experiences.
If you’ve worn a uniform in service for your community or country, this program benefits you.
They curate therapeutic adventure weekends that blend excitement, camaraderie, and emotional support—helping participants build resilience, reconnect with purpose, and develop tools to overcome PTSD, anxiety, and depression.
Through shared challenges and unforgettable moments, they foster a growing community of heroes who lift each other up, to live more empowered lives.
IGY6; is more than a program—it’s a movement.

Our Purpose
Mission
We are dedicated to fostering camaraderie among United States veterans of overseas conflicts, serving our veterans, military, and communities with integrity, and advocating for the rights and recognition of all who’ve served.
Vision
We envision a nation where every veteran is honored for their service, receives the benefits they’ve earned, and is recognized for the sacrifices they and their families have made in defense of our country.
Who We Are
The Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States (VFW) is a nonprofit organization made up of eligible veterans and military service members from the active, guard, and reserve forces. Since 1899, we’ve stood as a united voice for those who’ve served overseas fighting for their rights, honoring their sacrifices, and ensuring they are never forgotten.
Born from the struggles of veterans returning from the Spanish-American War and the Philippine Insurrection, the VFW grew from grassroots efforts into a national movement. Today, we proudly represent over 1.4 million members of the VFW and its Auxiliary.
Our advocacy has shaped the future of veteran care in America—from helping establish the Veterans Administration and national cemetery system, to securing compensation for Vietnam veterans exposed to Agent Orange and those affected by Gulf War Syndrome. We’ve championed landmark legislation including the GI Bill for the 21st Century, the Veterans Access and Accountability Act, the Blue Water Navy Veteran Act, and the Honoring Our PACT Act—one of the most significant pieces of veteran's legislation in history.
We’ve also helped fund memorials that honor the service and sacrifice of veterans from World War II, Korea, Vietnam, Desert Storm, and beyond. Our commitment extends to supporting disabled veterans and ensuring women in military service are recognized and remembered.
Through our programs, services, and legislative efforts, we continue to serve veterans, service members, and their families—because No One Does More for Veterans®.
Our Core Values
• Put the interests of our members first
• Treat donors as partners in our mission
• Promote patriotism and honor military service
• Ensure care for veterans and their families
• Serve our communities with compassion
• Uphold a positive image of the VFW
• Respect the diversity of veteran voices

Standing for those who serve
North West Montana Veterans Stand Down & Food Pantry is dedicated to uplifting homeless, low-income, and at-risk veterans and their families with dignity, respect, and practical support. These men and women have served our country with honor—now it’s our turn to serve them.
Through a “Veterans Serving Veterans” model, we provide essential services including food, clothing, hygiene facilities, peer counseling, and access to vital resources. Our wraparound approach meets each veteran where they are, offering not just immediate relief but a pathway to long-term stability.
We advocate for their unmet needs, raise community awareness, and host biannual Stand Downs to reach those who might otherwise go unseen. Every interaction—from a warm meal to a haircut—is rooted in compassion and designed to restore hope, trust, and self-worth.
We believe in offering a hand up—not a handout—and in building a community where no veteran is left behind.

Montana Down Syndrome Association
Every Step Counts. Every Life Shines.
We’re a volunteer-led nonprofit rooted in connection, compassion, and community. The Montana Down Syndrome Association exists to promote acceptance, inclusion, and lifelong support for individuals with Down syndrome and their families. Whether we’re welcoming new parents or hosting statewide celebrations, we’re here to walk beside you with purpose and heart.
Our signature event, the Buddy Walk®, is a joyful, high-impact celebration that brings communities together to honor individuals with Down syndrome and raise awareness across Montana.
Our Mission
To celebrate and support the extraordinary lives of people with Down syndrome by advocating for their rights and providing educational, financial, emotional, and social resources that empower families and build community.
How We Began
Founded in Missoula in the spring of 2014, our organization was born from a simple truth: families thrive when they connect. Friends and loved ones came together to share stories, offer support, and build a network of care. Today, we continue that mission statewide — making sure every family knows they’re not alone and that resources, research, and community are always within reach.
Why It Matters
Your support fuels connection, joy, and opportunity. Every donation helps us create inclusive spaces, provide critical resources, and celebrate the unique strengths of every individual with Down syndrome. Together, we’re building a Montana where everyone belongs.

Rocky Mountain Elks Foundation
The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation (RMEF) protects, supports, enhances, and opens habitat across the United States to ensure the future of elk and other big game. Founded in 1984 by four Montana hunters, RMEF has grown from a trailer in Troy to a national conservation leader headquartered in Missoula.
Driven by hunters—America’s original conservationists—RMEF funds habitat restoration, wildlife research, and public access initiatives. We work with Congress, agencies, and commissions to shape policies that benefit wildlife, healthy ecosystems, and the hunting heritage that sustains them.
Our impact includes:
• 15,000+ conservation and heritage projects
• Over 9 million acres conserved or enhanced
• 1.6 million acres opened or improved for public access
From prescribed burns and forest thinning to migration corridor protection and disease surveillance, RMEF delivers boots-on-the-ground results. We invest in education and outreach to ensure future generations carry forward the traditions of big game country.
With one square mile conserved every day, we’re on track to surpass 10 million acres by 2030. Join us in protecting habitat, expanding access, and keeping America’s big game wild and thriving.

About Wreaths Across America
What began in 1992 with a single trailer of 5,000 wreaths laid at Arlington National Cemetery has grown into a nationwide movement of remembrance and gratitude. Today, Wreaths Across America reaches over 5,300 locations across the country, powered by more than 3 million volunteers — including thousands of children — who carry forward its year-round mission:
• REMEMBER our fallen heroes
• HONOR those who serve
• TEACH the next generation the value of freedom
This isn’t just about wreaths. It’s about connection, legacy, and ensuring that no veteran is ever forgotten. Every December, communities come together to lay wreaths at veterans’ graves, but the impact lasts all year — through education, outreach, and acts of service.
Whether you're volunteering, donating, or simply sharing the message, your support helps preserve the stories of sacrifice and inspire future generations to cherish the freedoms we hold dear.
Join the mission. Carry it forward. Honor with action.
